few months ago was presented the new standard BDXL (High Capacity Recordable and Rewritable discs) for Blu-ray, with which it is possible to produce disks with capacities ranging from 100 to 128 GB (the first disc is rewritable). TDK Now that surprises the market by presenting a fresh new technology for manufacturing these discs, thanks to which we have Blu-ray disks with 1 TB of capacity.
's new album consists of 16 layers of up to 32 GB each, with which it achieves this impressive storage capacity. Of course to see these records in the trade will have to wait some time because there is still no recording device compatible with the new technology.
future is expected this type of storage is used for backup, especially if we think the price will decrease to the extent that will be crowded.
